Linux-hosted download:
Instructions: download fd144.gz by right-clicking the link below, choose "Save As" or "Save link as" and store the file fd144.gz to any convenient place on your Linux system. If running a Linux Desktop such as KDE or Gnome, open a shell terminal window. Ensure the current directory for the shell contains the file fd144.gz, that your PC floppy drive contains a 1.44Mb diskette. Also make sure the floppy device on your Linux desktop is unmounted, then run the command:
gunzip -c fd144 > /dev/fd0h1440
this will create a ChaOS boot disk, (overwriting all data on the diskette!) Reboot your PC from this diskette to see the ChaOS boot demo. (NB. make sure your computer BIOS is set to boot from the floppy drive, otherwise the ChaOS disk will not be accessed when you reboot!). Windows-hosted download: (Windows 95/98)
Instructions: download fd144.zip by right-clicking the link below, choose "Save As" and store the file fd144.zip to any convenient place on your Windows system. Unzip the file using Winzip, or other archive extractor to reveal the files mf.com and fd144. Ensure that your PC floppy drive contains a 1.44Mb diskette, then run mf.com by by a click or double-click over the file in the Windows desktop
This will create a ChaOS boot disk, (overwriting all data on the diskette!) Reboot your PC from this diskette to see the ChaOS boot demo.
